Puppy Parties

What is a Puppy Party?
A puppy party is an evening when your puppy is encouraged to socialize with other puppies and people. The Veterinarians and Nurses will demonstrate basic handling and obedience and will accustom your puppy to being in our Hospital. Your puppy will be able to associate our Hospital as being a fun and exciting place to be in. You will be given lots of advice on feeding, health and general management issues.

Experience has shown that puppies respond best to social contact between the ages of 8 weeks and 16 weeks, if it is in a positive way.

When and Where?
The Puppy Parties are held at our Hospital on the first three Fridays of every second month at a cost of $45.00.
This includes light refreshments and information packages on how to look after your puppy.
We start the parties at 6:30pm and they go for approximately an hour. The Party group consists of up to 10 to 12 puppies – please ring and book early, as numbers are definitely limited.

Would this suit my puppy?
Any puppy can join as long as it has its first vaccination. The early interaction of your puppy with other puppies of different sizes and shapes is invaluable for their life long social skills – and they all have a great time!! Puppy parties are relaxed and lots of fun for everyone but very informative also – so please bring along your children for the evening and be armed with lots of questions to ask.

WE WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HELP YOU MAKE YOUR PUPPY AN ACCEPTABLE MEMBER OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD AND THE WIDER COMMUNITY – WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU AT OUR PARTY!!

Gawler South Slimmers

Gawler South Slimmers is a weight reduction programme for our overweight patients, which has been specifically designed by our Veterinary and Nursing Staff in liaison with the Hill’s Pet Food Company.

An overweight is far more likely to suffer from heart and respiratory problems, arthritis, diabetes, cancer etc. and eventually a reduced quality and longevity of life. Unfortunately, we are finding that obesity is now a major problem in the pet population and is a big concern to all the staff at Gawler South.

One of our nurses will provide a support network, free of charge, to ensure controlled and effective weight loss for your pet. You will receive advice, guidance and encouragement during the weight loss period, with checks every 2 weeks.

We do recommend that your dog or cat is fed Hill’s Prescription Diet during the weight loss period to ensure complete calorie intake control and therefore maximize the weight loss effort.

If you are interested in joining the programme or would just like to talk with one of the nurses about your pets’ weight, please contact us and leave your name and phone number and one of the girls will contact you as soon as possible.
